  Does anyone else have this problem?

  it's been 7 years since our divorce was final and every now and then my ex-wife will call and tell what she's up to and how she's doing ect.

  ect.

  ( it's usually a tale of whoa ) anyway i find it kind of hilarious.

  Take it as a compliment that she feels she could still communicate with you. You must have touched her in a special way during the 7 years you two were married to each other.

  You were a part of her life story during the seven years you were married....that's a good chunk of time. It's not easy to just turn your back on time like that. Because she calls doesn't necessarily mean she has romantic feelings towards you. Maybe it's just nostalgia, or maybe you are just a good friend.....somebody she could talk to. She must not hate you. Even if she did meet Joe Wonderful, you were an important part of her life. You havn't asked her not to call, have you? Then she will keep calling if you allow her to.

  If my Ex wouldn't detest me so much, I could easily carry a conversation with him. I don't hate him, but the problem is that the feeling isn't mutual. He hates that I divorced him. He can't even look me in the eye when he picks our kids up for his weekend with them. There are time I wish I could talk to him about everyday life.

  Do you learn from others experience?

  are you the type to do things your way all the time and make your own errors, or do you rely on the experience of older, wiser persons to guide you in life and hope to make less errors?.

  Personally, I'd rather be in control of my own life. I want to make my own mistakes, and my own triumphs. I observe what goes on around me, but I like to make the final choices based on my observations and experiences.

  Making the break

  i am currently a jw but am having a bit of difficulty with it at the moment.

  i have always been a bit 'badly inclined' i got married at the tender age of 17 (crazy!

  ) to a bit of a rebel (a jw but a rebel all the same!

  I hope I don't sound too harsh, but I speak from experience. What if there is verbal abuse in the marriage? Children do not always know this is going on, if the parents are wise enough not to express this type of behavior in front of their children. Children think mommy and daddy are happy, but they don't know that mommy is dying inside...her sprit is being shattered. This will make their mother a "zombie", and impossible for a mother to function in a normal, healthy way. Children do not deserve a zombie for a mother. They deserve to live in a positive and happy environment, with peace. If there is no love between their parents, I just don't see how this could be. This goes for households where there is no abuse.....there is still no love. Without love, there can't be harmony. There is constant discontent and sadness.

  Children pick up on the vibes that are present in the household and the marriage. They feel what's going on, even if they don't witness the disharmony. I strongly believe this is not fair to the children. They much rather see their mom and dad happy, even if it means the parents live in different homes. The parent's attitude has a lot to do with the happiness and well being of the children.

  I just can't agree with "stay for the children's sake".

  i know some of you have played around with ecstasy.

  there are some good comments by people at the end of the article as to what they think of this research.

  one of the men i work with used a lot of ecstasy in college and he is not depressed whatsoever.

  Going where the "Need is Great"

  lets go back in time,back to the late 60`s early 70`s..armagedon is coming and the wbts wants it`s members to sell every thing they got and preach in areas where there are few or no dubs..where did the people you know go?..my parents packed up their belongings and went to..the friggin bible belt of b.c..lol!

  a good wind storm would knock a few christians out of trees there were so many..a bloody church on every street corner,and every one of them had the truth..so why the bible belt?..there were`nt many dubs there at the time,but most importantly property was cheap.a smart dub could make a killing at real estate,and they did..more money than you could shake a dead donkey at,lol!....my bud`s dad also went where the need was great.the dumb-ass religion broke his family up,his wife being a none believer and all.so where did my buds anointed dad go?..hawaii,lol!

  Back in '86 my sister went to County Cork Ireland to serve where the need was great. She met her now husband there

  My waterfall

  Gracie,

  I was in a situation that was almost like yours....but we have two kids together. I'm sorry for you because this is a very sad situation you are in. The lonliness can be agony when you are married, but feel alone, which is what I asume you may be feeling since you do not "love" your husband.

  I agree with the slow fade method, but make sure your child maintains a relationship with his father. The other parent is very important in the child's life, as long as it is not an abusive relationship. It worked for me. I am now divorced and I have my life back. Good luck!

  LB,

  That sounds great.....I'm jealous. When I worked by the waterfront in downtown Portland, Oregon, I would walk down by the waterfront to eat my lunch. Watching the boats go on by, and seeing the large bridges that cross the Willamette River lift up to allow the larger boats to meander down the river was facinating! I loved it!!

  Something about water, be it in a lonely setting or around people, is very relaxing. Thanks for sharing...it brought back memories.

  I can't help but feel kind of sad for them. They have so much hope, but they will never see this happen. They are in a real dream world....I pity them.
